"Tucson's yodeling princess scored a major coup
last month when she opened for country legend Mel Tillis in Laughlin, Nev.
Yodeling darling, Tiffany Jo Allen, hadn't expected to share the Riverside
Casino stage with Tillis late last month. But a friend of Tillis' heard her
performing and asked her to wander down the Laughlin strip to the Riverside
Casino where Tillis was performing. The veteran country crooner spotted the 12
year old Tucsonan with a guitar strapped to her back and asked to hear her sing.
He was so impressed, according to Tiffany Jo's mother, Amber, that he asked her
to join him the following night in concert.
"After the show he grabbed her arm and said, 'Tiffany, now we're gonna make some money'." Her mom said in an email last week, "He had her put all of her CD's, pics, etc on the table with his, then he had her stand next to him and greet all 1,000 plus people as they walked out of the theater."
